A Few Days Away, a New Drone, and Life After 70
A Walk and Talk Video
On today’s video I’ll be updating you on what’s happened since the last video. A trip we went on to Zenica playing with a new drone that I’ve got. I might cut in some shots of that and how the channel is going. So it’s a bit of a ramble. I hope you’ll stick with me. First of all, thank you to everybody that’s been subscribing. It’s really cool. We’ve got 163 subscribers. We’ve only been going two months.
And I’ve taken on the comments about sitting in front of the camera. I do use the teleprompter a bit, but I’m not going to do that anymore. I’m just going to use notes. So I’ve taken that on board because I read your comments. And yeah, so we’ve been to Zenica. Zenica I think is the third city in Bosnia-Herzegovina, a former industrial city.
We have friends there and we are also members of the hiking club there. So we took the opportunity to go and visit friends, catch up and get some supplies, some foodstuffs that we can’t get in Banja Luka And we thought we were going to go out and have Ćevap for lunch, but they laid on a super barbecue up in the mountains and...
Our friend Senad took us there. It’s only accessible by a 4x4. I took a video of it, 17 minutes long.
I’ll put a little clip of it now. If you want to see all the behind scenes videos, long videos that I don’t put here, I have them on Patreon. Take a break.
This is NOT a beg for money, but you can see them there.
We had an amazing time. Wow. The hospitality of people in Bosnia and Herzegovina never ceases to amaze me.
Also, we had to go and pick up my new drone. I now have my second drone, which is a DJI Neo 2. I’ve been out this morning trying out all its remote possibilities without using a controller or a mobile phone with it.
One or two shots now coming of my walk down to the river. I’m really pleased with it and I think it’s going to add to my storytelling here. Whether I would use it where there’s lots of people, I haven’t got a clue yet. It’s early doors as they say in English.
But it’s great. So I’m a 70 year old plus person. have two drones. Don’t know how many people my age have drones, but I’m sure there are. And the second day,
Yeah, we looked around then, did some more exploring and then went to the theatre to see a production called Pas Matter.
Now, if you know the local language, Pas Matter has a rather explicit meaning. But it was a play on words and it was Dogs Matter, Pas being Dogs. I thoroughly enjoyed it. The second time I’ve been to the theatre whilst I’ve been here in the country, and although my language skills are pretty awful, I did enjoy it and I did understand more than everybody around me thought I did.
And then we came back. So we’ve been away for two day, two and a half day, R &R.
You can say, David, why do you need R &R when you live where you live? Change is as good as the rest. So yeah, today, totally unprepared to be cold. So I am chilly at the moment and... I’ve been playing with my drone and I think as I say it’s going to be a massive bonus.

Thank You
Thank you for watching these little slices of my life. If you’d don’t mind here are 3 questions I have for you.
What would make you hit “play” on a video post instead of just reading?
What makes a video episode feel personal or meaningful to you?
Would you like me to add audio versions of my video posts so you can choose how to enjoy them?
I’ll give a complimentary subscription to Coffee and Rakija for life for taking the time to answer.

Love this perspective on staying curious past 70. The DJI Neo 2 seems like perfect tech for storytelling without being too invasive, which is kinda the sweet spot for travel content. I've noticed older creators often bring way more intentionality to new tools vs just flexing gear. The balance betwen documenting culture and respecting privacy really matters.
