I apologize for the lack of video content recently, but today I wanted to update you on what's been happening and share some exciting news about my new podcasting ventures. So grab a cup of tea, sit back, and let's catch up!
Feeling the Burnout:
Over the past year, I have been facing a significant amount of burnout, which has affected my ability to produce regular video content. While I don't chase numbers or obsess over views, likes, or comments, I must admit that seeing my channel become a bit dormant has been disheartening. With 3,491 subscribers, I often wonder how many of you are actively watching my videos. The combination of burnout and the uncertainty of viewership led me to take a step back from video production.
Venturing into Podcasting:
Despite the challenges, I am determined to return to creating engaging content. For the time being, I have shifted my focus to podcasting, where I currently produce three audio podcasts. These are:
An Englishman in the Balkans: This podcast is an extension of my blog here, where I share my experiences and reflections on life in the Balkans. You can listen here on Substack or on all of the major Podcast platforms.
Travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina: Together with Tamara, we have launched a new podcast dedicated to exploring the wonders of Bosnia and Herzegovina. We have exciting episodes lined up, so stay tuned!
A 100-Day Podcast Challenge I have set myself with My Bosnian Notebook: Join me on this thrilling challenge as I explore various aspects of Bosnian culture and share my insights along the way.
Why Podcasting?
As someone who has a background in broadcasting, I find great joy in creating audio content. Recently, I acquired a new Shure MV7 microphone, which has significantly enhanced the audio quality of my podcasts. So while you may have seen less of me on video, I have been working diligently behind the scenes to ensure a captivating auditory experience for my listeners.
Your Input Matters:
In the vast sea of content on YouTube, it's easy to lose sight of what truly interests you as a viewer. That's why I would love to hear your thoughts on what you would like to see in the future. Although I can't promise to fulfill every request, your feedback will guide me in creating content that is worth your valuable time. So, please, let me know in the comments section!
Supporting An Englishman in the Balkans:
If you genuinely wish to support any of my channels, could I kindly ask for your help with three things:
Subscribe: By subscribing, you not only show your support but also help me gauge the impact of my content.
Engage: Leaving a comment or giving a thumbs up lets me know that someone is watching and appreciating the content. Your feedback is invaluable.
Share Your Preferences: Take a moment to let me know your preferences for future content. Your insights will assist me in tailoring my content to what you like.
Closing Thoughts:
As I wrap up this update, I want to express my gratitude for your continued support and understanding during this period of transition. The weather here in Northwest Bosnia may be unpredictable, but I'm confident that brighter days and summer adventures lie ahead. Your comments, suggestions, and subscriptions mean the world to me, and I genuinely look forward to reading and responding to each one.
