Postcards from Bosnia is an audio journey into the heart of Bosnia and Herzegovina, seen through the eyes of an Englishman who has made this place his home.
Paid members get access to everything I create, including exclusive podcasts, behind-the-scenes reflections, photo essays, and more that I only share with my inner circle ☕✨
Thanks so much in advance.
After a long pause, I’m back in my little tajno mjesto, my “secret space” under the pine trees here in rural Bosnia, to share what comes next for Postcards from Bosnia. If you enjoy slow living, life in Bosnia, stories from the Krajina, and an honest window into expat life over 70, then this new direction is very much for you.
In this short scene-setter, recorded on an old Zoom handheld rather than a smartphone, I talk about the experiments I’ve been doing these past few months across YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook… and why I’ve decided to bring everything home to Substack.
From next Monday, I’ll be posting a five-to-six-minute daily audio postcard, simple, reflective, and rooted in everyday life here in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some days I’ll be in this secret spot under the pines; other days I’ll take you walking across the Krajina, making morning coffee at home, or standing beside the storm drains as the thawing snow rushes down toward the Vrbas.
If you’re reading this on Substack, you’ll also receive a weekly Sunday digest gathering the previous seven episodes, perfect if you prefer to listen in one go. And if you’re following along via the Substack app, these daily posts will appear right inside Notes.
Thanks for being here, for listening, and for helping me keep demystifying this often-misunderstood corner of the Western Balkans.
Vidimo se opet — see you again soon.
Thank You
Thank you for listening to these little slices of my life. If you’d like to get more stories, you can subscribe to my Substack, it’s free, and if you ever want to upgrade to paid but can’t afford it, just email me. I’ll sort it out, no questions asked.
Here are 3 questions I have.
What would make you hit “play” on an audio post instead of just reading?
What makes a podcast episode feel personal or meaningful to you?
Would you like me to add audio versions of my blog posts so you can choose how to enjoy them?
I’ll give a complimentary subscription to Coffee and Rakija for life for taking the time to answer.
