Prozor to Kabul.
Back in 2010 I was working in Kabul, Afghanistan.
It was a particular restricted lifestyle that I lead, spending 85% of my time inside a secure area, surrounded by walls, wire and heavily armed guards.
But to be fair, there were some facilities to make life just that little bit more tolerable.
One such facility was the laundry. The laundry operated six days a week. The clothes were handed in, and the washing/cleaning carried out, outside the secure compound.
This is the picture I took back then of the Afghan company's laundry truck.
It seems that during the mid 1990's, when the Balkan conflicts were happening, second hand vehicles and trucks turned up by the 1000's. Mainly from Germany and Holland.
Those vehicles have been replaced by the latest models. Where did the old ones go?
I thought the scrap dealers. But No! They somehow arrived in Kabul.
But how?
I am still perplexed.I mean, is there a route by road from Prozor Rama in Herzegovina to the capital of Afghanistan?
And if so, how did the truck make it?
Answers, comments, conspiracy theories etc appreciated.
