⏳ The Story⌛️
In this podcast I talk to Kathi and Numa Numić, who discuss the development and plans for their travel agency, Ćejf, which focuses on mindful and sustainable travel in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We look back on their successful first year, highlighting challenges, achievements, and the desire to expand their offerings beyond the well-known tourist spots.
Their preferred platforms for engagement are their website and Instagram, with potential plans to expand to YouTube in the future.

Hello I’m David, and Coffee and Rakija is a Digital Magazine about my life and experiences in a rural village in North-West Bosnia and Herzegovina. I’ll be giving you a unique look, through the eyes of an immigrant (me), of this much misunderstood country. My goal is to replace the many negative perceptions of both the country and its people, that you’ll be served by international media outlets. Thank you so much for dropping by.

What is Ćejf ⬇️
The Concept of Ćejf :
In This Episode of the podcast I have the pleasure of speaking with Nermin Numić, the co-owner and founder of a travel agency in Sarajevo called Ćejf, which is based on this very concept. Ćejf is derived from the Arabic word kayf, which means pleasure. It's a way of life that is all about finding pleasure in the small things. What's unique about Ćejf is that it's deeply personal and individual. Everyone has their own definition of what brings them pleasure and what makes them happy. In Sarajevo, where Numa is from, Ćejf is a way of life that is respected and cherished by everyone.

Why I Don't Discuss 🇧🇦 Politics on Coffee and Rakija
The title of this post infers that I am not interested in the politics of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Well, I am. I live here after all, BUT, and this is a big BUT, as a foreigner, firstly it’s NOT MY COUNTRY and secondly it’s definitely not my place to interfere. Whenever we host family, guests or non Balkan friends, invariably the question pops up and quickly gravitates to politics. For example: How did the conflict of the 1990’s start, who was to blame, why is the country structured as it is, etc etc. I assume that other visitors and tourists ask similar questions of their local hosts.
Buying Land in Bosnia and Herzegovina, AC, Hosting Guests and Catching Up
In this episode of the Coffee Talk podcast on Substack, Tamara and I catch up after a few weeks, discussing life in Čardačani, coping with the recent heatwaves and storms, and looking at our new air conditioning setup. We look back at our trip to Belgrade and about friends visiting from Germany and guests from Slovenia. There's an update from the garden and our future travel plans to the island of Rab on the Croatian coast. We also talk about the uptake of foreigners buying property in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
