Early Ploughing in the Village
How Tamara's father prepares his land for a new season of planting.
In this video, we get a glimpse of Tamara's father's large kitchen garden, where he prepares the land for a new season of planting. The land is plowed by a tractor every year, and then left fallow for a while to let the elements do their work. Later on, the tractor comes back to till the land finer, and then Tamara's father and his wife start planting their vegetables.
The cost of the tractor's service is kept low through the barter system, where they exchange goods or services instead of money.
