Taking a Festive Pause. See You in the New Year!
Reflections, Resets, and a Fresh Perspective for 2024
Hello from the Village,
As we approach the end of another year, I wanted to reach out and let you know that I’ll be taking a little publishing break until after Serbian Christmas (celebrated here on the 7th of January).
It feels like the perfect time to pause, reflect, and refocus.
During this time away, I’ll be reshaping my content, whether it’s blog posts, videos, or podcasts, to better share the day-to-day stories, challenges, and reflections of life as a retiree in my 70’s.
I’m thinking of a more personal deeper dive into what it’s like to embrace this stage of life I find myself in, surrounded by the unique charm of Bosnia.
I’m truly grateful for your support and for being part of my online community here.
It’s your engagement, through comments and likes, that keeps me motivated and inspired to share my stories.
Tamara and I both wish you a peaceful holiday season, filled with warmth, good company, and maybe a slice (or two) of festive cake (maybe a swig of rakija or your local equivalent?).
I’ll see you on the other side of the New Year, ready to pick up where I’ve left off, with some fresh stories and a renewed sense of purpose.
Until then, take care and stay curious.
Bests as Ever,
David
P.S. If there’s anything specific you’d like me to explore or share in the coming year, I’d love to hear from you!
Just hit reply.
I think many of us are taking a festive pause -- I'm not sure I even have the energy to send out a newsletter about it!
I'm not sure what your subscriber curve looks like, or how long you have been on Substack, but as a relative newcomer I would like to know a little more about the whole background to your story. I myself haven't wanted to write "expat back pages" but I must admit they're pretty interesting!
Have a wonderful holiday season!
Have a fantastic time David! Merry Christmas!
