The Bočac Fortress is situated on the left bank of the Vrbas River not far from Krupa na Vrbasu.
Built in the early 15th century, the fortress stands on top of a rocky outcrop.
It’s primary purpose was to defend a crossing over the Vrbas River.
The first documented mention of Bočac Fortress appears in a charter dating back to 1448.
From 1463 to 1527 during the Ottoman rule, Bočac served as a crucial fortification for the Banovina of Jajce.
Despite being abandoned before 1833, the fortified walls and towers surrounding the large garden of the town remain relatively well-preserved.
