📰 The Update 📰
“It’s been Emotional”.
The last “newsletter” we sent out was on 5th March. There have been Podcasts and Vlogs arriving in your Inboxes since. I really hope you like them.
A lot had happened Behind the Scenes at that time of the 5th March post, and a lot more has developed since. At the risk of TMI (Too Much Information), I’ll try and explain as best I can so you get the context.
At at the start of February or maybe late January, I published a walk and talk video about the fact that I had caught some form of kidney/bladder infection. As a result of that I took some antibiotics, but it didn't clear up and got worse. I've been having lots of tests, which have been exhausting and I'm hoping in the not too distant future to get a definitive answer to what is wrong and the treatment to put things back to normal.
Also, in the middle of February, we had a family bereavement within Tamara's family, which was very sudden and knocked the family for six. And a lot more recently, one of the immediate family has had a stroke. Pretty serious one actually, although the prognosis does look now not as bad as what we thought it was. So with those two things plus, as I say, the bereavement and the stroke, has actually taken my eye off the ball as far as creating content is concerned.
Hence no post last Wednesday.
But, my plan is now to get things back up to speed.
We've got now 200 subscribers, which I'm really over the moon with, plus 40 followers from Substack Notes. An all up audience of 240 people, which might not be a lot in the grand scheme of things, but for me that does mean a lot.
In the content pipeline are 2 podcasts. The first with Mile Mićić, an amazing guy from Bosnia and Herzegovina now living in Andalusia in Spain.
He's going to be talking about Bosana, an animating cartoon series about a fictitious country, but based on his home country of Bosnia and Herzegovina. So I'm looking forward to talking about that with him and sharing that with you.
The second podcast will be with a lady who's recently arrived back in Banja Luka from Arizona, who has established a micro-business based in the city centre called Zee's Cup of Tea.
I think as you read this, our clocks will have gone forward one hour. So we're on European summer time, which will be good. The weather is windy outside at the moment, but, nice and warm and I think we've got a lot more warm weather now in front of us as we go into late spring and into summer, which will be really nice, although I'm sure I'm going to be moaning about plus 35 and how I'm running away from the heat and looking forward to finding air conditioning.
Oh, and our banana tree, our banana plant, that we didn't know how we would get it through the winter and just sort of like cut it right back rather viciously and then covered it with plastic and fabrics and things like that, well, it looks like it's survived.
I'm going to go outside and take a photograph of it now, and I'm going to post it right here.
So thats the update.
Please enjoy the rest of this newsletter, as we get back to “Normal Service as Usual”.
