What is Happening to the Traditional Seasons we once knew and maybe enjoyed?
The Transcript to the video above ⬇️
The days are really getting crazy here.
Weather wise yesterday was all dark all of a sudden. Thunderstorms and rain this morning.
Woke up to lots of mist and now the sun is back. But the weather changing is causing chaos here. I have a Višnja tree which is a sour jam out of it and every year it blossoms in March and then sort of like does its thing and towards the end of the season there's so many nice sour cherries. Višnja in the local language.
I try to make jam out of it every year.
Two years ago I think we had a problem. This year we've had a problem so far.
Why? Because the Višnja blossoms get freak frosty mornings and then the blossoms wilt away and then we get nothing and there you go, we don't get anything and then this last couple of days having had a whole summer of brown leaves like it's continual autumn on the Višnja tree we've now got green leaves and it's blossoming.
The same on the plum trees which has the same fate. I think the only ones to have got through it marginally have been the apple trees but yes what is going on?
A story of everyday life in the Western Balkans. I'll have to go and buy my Višnja jam to cover me over the winter.
Have you got a problem where you're living now with climate change, which everybody, well, not everybody, but some people say is a load of rubbish, I don't know.
But I thought I'd share this with you today. How the seasons are getting messed up again. Weird.
I miss the snow, deep lasting snow in the winter. Also, long dry and warm periods of summer. If it keeps up like this Guns N'Roses will have to rewrite "cold November rain" from their November rain into "warm November rain". It used to be warm and dry in July/August, cold and wet in November, cold and snow in Dec/Jan/Feb and some mix of rain/cold/sunny in March/April. I'd like my kids to feel the winter as I did.
We've had an awful summer weatherwise. It's rained most weekends. But the last fortnight has been lovely. On Tuesday we had thunderstorms and it hasn't stopped raining since.
It's very damp at the minute and I'm not looking forward to the Autumn and Winter.
I'm definitely a warm weather person!
