Hi was just curious you said you weren't feeling the vibe back in the UK. what did you mean? How has it changed? If Bosnia is your home now, what is it about Bosnia that makes it feel that way?
Hi Sharon, it's been decades since I lived in the UK for anything other than short family visits. Over that time my nostalgia for what was, has gradually evaporated. During this last trip, descending into Heathrow and looking down on London, where I was born, I didn't feel any emotion or excitement as I used to. Apart from being with my family, I actually felt like a stranger, almost like a tourist in a way, but without a touristic desire to explore. Living in Bosnia still has challenges both linguistically and culturally, but they lessen day by day. For me, I find it fascinating here. Oh! and the weather during Spring, Summer and early Autumn is just the ticket. As a pensioner (which I am now), my quality and standard of life is far far better than what I could experience in the UK. You should come and visit as I am sure you would understand my feelings much better. Thanks for getting in touch with the blog it means a lot. Bests, David
I understand you. Maybe that means you are now a Bosnian. Many friends who have left the UK, when they have come back they have said it's gone to the dogs, they are glad they moved. I think you are right about your quality of life as a pensioner it would be terrible here. Too much crime and not enough respect for older people. I wish you well.
