Bosnia is amazing. Went there thus year to Sarajevo and Banja Luka and National Park Una. I felt like it was home. It's such a nice country with nice people and rich history. I would live there in a heartbeat
David. Long ago, lived a winter in an ancient log house, Graubunden. Heat was from a marvelous soapstone/masonry box the scale and shape of a coffin, tiny entry from a small kitchen, with 90% of mass in the main room. Only had kindling sticks as fuel, never hot, just pleasantly warm throughout the day. Mark Twain gives a review from 150+ years ago. https://www.hestiastoves.com/review-by-mark-twain/
There is a nice maker in the Netherlands https://www.altechkachels.com similar materials, but not quite the traditional super-efficient design I witnessed. Amsh go for efficient steel here, too. https://breeo.com/ But may still be some craftsman up in Tyrol making the old 'Stein-ofen'. Stay warm! Lovely video.
Lovely drone shots, especially pretty with the covering of snow!
It does look so nice there David, but I do love snow, so I’m biased. Stay warm my friend & Happy Birthday to Tam.
Mark, so GREAT to hear from you! I'll stay warm no worries. I'll pass your BDay regards to T. Hope you enjoy the posts here on my Substack.
